I It is a genuine SESTRAL COMPASS. It is a genuine antique. This year is its 75th year birthday. It is CIRCA 1932, which means it was produced in 1932, by the HENRY BROWNE COMPANY, it was aboard a Dunkirk little ship during the Second World War, that rescued many troops of off the beaches... these troops had been forced back to the beaches by the advancing German army, and were stranded on those beaches awaiting to be killed. This twin screw (two engines and therefore two propellers) little ship 25 years ago. It had been sunk.....It was beyond repair, so I removed the compass (as it was the most valuable part of the boat). “It has a very small part in British Maritime history”. Henry Browne Company at the station works, Barking in ESSEX, United Kingdom. Number 1834. It has small wooden base. “It is Valuable”. There is provision in the base for a light. It is still functioning and still can be used.
